» What is USF Giving Day?
USF Giving Day is a 24-hour fundraising event celebrated during USF Week. As we celebrate our beloved mascot, Rocky D. Bull’s birthday, it is also a time for all of us― alumni, faculty, staff, parents, students and friends ― to rally together and support USF and all of the valuable impacts being made in our state, nation and world.

» When does USF Giving Day take place?
April 4, 2019, beginning at 12:00 a.m. EST and concluding at 11:59 p.m. EST.

» Why should I give?
Your gift helps fund important programs and initiatives at USF. Your participation says you believe in USF and ensures that our students learn, our faculty inspire, our research remains innovative, and so much more. Your participation proclaims that YOU believe in USF. The number of donors is also an important metric as universities are ranked in publications such as U.S. News & World Report.

» How can I make a gift?
Every gift is important. Whatever you can give is meaningful and has a great impact throughout the USF System.

  • Online: Via the Giving Day HerdFunder page at
  • Phone: (813) 974-5908
  • In Person: Join the festivities in the Marshall Student Center between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

» Can I make a gift of stock in support of USF Giving Day?
Yes! Please call the Office of Gift Planning at (813) 974-1897 to make a gift via securities, donor-advised fund, or IRA rollover.

» I am a faculty/staff member at USF. How can I give?
We’re so glad you asked! Any gift made through this Giving Day website will count for your Faculty & Staff Campaign participation.  If you would like to make a payroll deduction gift, please visit, or call the Faculty & Staff Campaign hotline at (813) 974-4900.

» I already made a gift to USF this year. Will that count toward USF Giving Day?
Due to the unique nature of this event, a new gift will need to be made on April 4, 2019, to count for participation in USF Giving Day. It is all about celebrating what we are able to do collectively during this important 24-hour campaign.

» Can I specify where my gift goes?
Yes. You may designate your gift to support any program or initiative throughout the USF System. Find your passion and make your impact. We have already identified numerous areas in need of your support. You can find these campaigns by visiting here. If there is something specific you would like to support that you are unable to find, please contact us at (813) 974-5908, and we will be happy to assist.

» Is my payment secure?
Yes, absolutely. USF does not store or save your credit card information. This sensitive data is handled exclusively by a PCI Compliant payment processor.

» Is my gift tax-deductible and when will I receive my receipt?
Your gift is considered a charitable gift to the USF Foundation, designated for the project you have chosen to support. A tax receipt will be provided via email after you make your gift. You may be entitled to a charitable income tax deduction for your gift since the USF Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. Please consult your tax advisor for advice regarding your specific tax situation.

» What if I or my spouse/domestic partner work for a matching gift company?
Many employers have matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees. Some companies also match retirees' or spouses' gifts. To find out if your company has a matching gift program, please visiting for more information and to search our corporate matching gift database.

» How can I help spread the word and make USF Giving Day a success?
