Supporting Student Success at USF Muma College

The Project

The Collier Student Success Center at the USF Muma College of Business assists students with career planning, hosts corporate networking events and coordinates workshops to help students with "beyond the books" professional development. Some of these opportunities include résumé bootcamps, career fairs and an elevator pitch competition.

Housed within the Collier Student Success Center is the Business Communications Center (known as the BizComm Center) which offers help to business majors — undergraduate students as well as graduate students — in all phases of writing. This resource is for students who want to improve their written, oral, presentation and email communication skills.

The Collier Student Success Center is also the home of the Corporate Mentor Program.  Juniors and seniors who are the first in their families to attend college often need help transitioning into a rewarding career. For more than 25 years, corporate mentors have provided access to opportunities where students learn about interviewing, corporate culture, networking and how to become leaders in the corporate world. Active participants find that the workshops, seminars, dinners and other opportunities help them develop professionally, as well as build the underlying skills that allow them to become tomorrow's leaders.
