Project World Health (PWH) is a unique organization founded and led by medical students at the University of South Florida with the mission of providing basic healthcare services to impoverished communities abroad. Our goal is to meet the needs of these communities by providing sustainable patient care, health education and preventative medicine.
In February 2024, PWH will travel to the Jarabacoa region of the Dominican Republic. The team will examine patients, make diagnoses, perform minor procedures, prescribe medications, and distribute hygiene products. Our interprofessional group of physicians, residents, nurses, pharmacists and USF medical students expect to serve hundreds of individuals over the course of the week. For many, this will be the only healthcare they receive for the year.
