USF Credit Union Donates $100K to Aid USF Employees Impacted by Recent Hurricanes

USF Credit Union (USF CU) is stepping up to support USF employees who suffered serious losses from the recent hurricanes! They have donated $100,000 to USF’s Employee Hardship Assistance Program to help the Bulls family, supporting faculty and staff with urgent needs like temporary housing, home repairs, medical bills, and other unexpected costs due to the storms.

“We’ve been a proud part of the USF community since 1959,” Rick Skaggs, President and CEO of USF CU said. “Our roots run deep here, and we felt called to help support those employees who are struggling following the recent storms.”

USF CU and USF have shared a mission to support and uplift our community for 65 years with cultures that focus on helping people and improving lives in our community.

Just last year, the credit union made generous gifts to support scholarships and events throughout multiple areas of the university and named the walkway that’ll lead into the future on-campus stadium.

“This most recent gift from the USF Federal Credit Union will have far-reaching impacts for our employees, many of whom are still trying to recover from challenging circumstances,” USF Foundation CEO Jay Stroman said. “We are so grateful for their incredibly generous and longstanding support of our Bulls.”

USF CU is making it easier for others to help. They’re placing collection bins for USF’s Feed-A-Bull Food Pantry in each of their branches. The Food Pantry, which offers free groceries to students in need, has seen a dramatic increase in demand and is requesting donations of non-perishable foods.

You can also donate to two critical USF Foundation funds:

Right now, the demand for assistance from both USF Foundation funds far outweighs available support, so the need is higher than ever to help make a difference.
