As part of Association of American Universities, the University of South Florida College of Engineering is advancing the next generation of engineers to solve the world’s most complex challenges through learning, discovery and community. We combine cutting-edge research, hands-on learning and industry-connected experiences to prepare students who think boldly, act decisively and lead with purpose. From advancing sustainable systems to driving innovation in AI, infrastructure and health, our students graduate ready to make an immediate and lasting impact. What We Do
The Dean’s Strategic Engineering Fund allows us to respond quickly to emerging priorities across the college, from enhancing student experiences to strengthening faculty research and supporting student development. To prepare our students to become the best engineers in their fields, we must provide them access to cutting-edge technology, advanced equipment and high-quality learning environments.
Maintaining and upgrading these resources is essential, but it also requires ongoing and significant investment. This fund gives us the agility to keep pace with rapidly evolving engineering fields and ensures our students can learn, create and compete at the highest level.
The Impact
Your Giving Week support creates immediate impact for the college's students and staff. Each year, nearly 1,000 engineering students participate in local and national competitions, showcasing their innovation and technical skills in challenges ranging from regional design projects to elite national contests. Our students consistently earn top recognitions, including taking first place in the 2024 DoD Cyber Sentinel Skills Challenge, winning the 2025 FWEA Design Competition, competing in NASA’s Student Launch and producing multiple Barry Goldwater Scholars.
Your support also strengthens our dynamic industry partnerships with leading employers who collaborate with our college on research, sponsored design projects and workforce development, while creating pathways for students to turn classroom learning into real-world solutions.
