We are fundraising to alleviate the financial responsibility for student performers who are members of the Winterguard at USF. The money raised will help support the operations of Winterguard performances and competitions, such as travel and equipment, during the Winterguard season.
Who We Are
In 2002, Mary Dooley, then-coordinator of USF's Herd of Thunder Colorguard, started the Winterguard to continue the program's development and keep the membership active during the winter months. As members of the Winterguard at USF, we perform as a visual unit that strives for excellence, education and entertainment for our audience and team members. We use various equipment, including flags, rifles and sabres, along with dance to compete annually at local and national levels.
We promote growth, and a sense of family and responsibility within the organization. Membership in the Winterguard is open to anyone taking courses at USF, either full-time or part-time, pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees or professional studies.
The Impact
Fundraising for this project will provide opportunities for students to pursue their passion in the performing arts. Gifts will go toward the operational needs of Winterguard and offset the costs of the Winterguard season for performers.
What Your Generosity Will Do
Funds raised this year will help with travel costs to compete in Dayton, Ohio, including van rental for member transportation in the city. Every dollar raised will get us further down the road! Donors who contribute to this project demonstrate a passion for the performing arts and show support for our team and its members.
