Glossary (In Development)
Financial Need: For purposes of awarding scholarships, a student’s financial need is calculated by factors including the Student Aid Index (SAI) calculated from the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and the student’s cost of attendance. Learn more about Cost of Attendance in the Office of Financial Aid’s Scholarship Administration Guide.
Merit: Defined by a minimum of 3.0 (unless otherwise noted)
Non-Renewable or 2 semesters: The fund should only be awarded to the same student for two semesters.
Renewable up to 8 semesters: The student does not have to re-apply if they continue to meet the criteria of the fund. You will have to submit a new payment request form each year.
Residency: If a gift agreement mentions that a student must be a resident of a specific county or state, the admit county of the student is what should be utilized. This is available on Financial Aid reports.
