Don G. Giunta Endowed Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was created in memory of Don G. Giunta, a former Hillsborough County teacher who died saving five people from drowning in Honeymoon Island in Dunedin, Florida on July 21, 2004. This scholarship honors him and the causes he was most passionate about.
Scholarship Criteria
USF junior or senior level undergraduates or any graduate level students who are Florida residents may apply. Students must have demonstrated participation in activities (post-high school) that have benefited society or the environment. Activities may include, but are not limited to, creative projects, humanitarian acts, and volunteer/philanthropic work. Strong consideration will be given to students majoring in Education or Environmental Science or Music; however, all majors are welcome to apply.
Requires personal statement, student resume and special one page essay describing your participation in activities since high school that have specifically benefited: society, animals or the environment.
