The Project/Challenge

The Ybor Youth Clinic (YYC), a non-profit clinic under the umbrella of the USF Foundation and supported by the Department of Pediatrics, is launching this campaign to raise much needed funds to support daily clinic operations. Much of the salary support at the YYC is provided by grant funding, but because of restrictions on how these funds can be used, it is difficult to cover other expenses like rent and utilities.

Make an even bigger impact! A generous donor will make a $25,000 donation to the USF Health Ybor Youth Clinic if the project is able to reach our goal of 50 gifts by April 8th!

More About the Ybor Youth Clinic

The YYC opened its doors on October 15, 2012, initially focusing on caring for LGBTQ and homeless youth. Since those early days, the clinic has expanded its focus to include all youth, age 13 to 24, whose needs may not be met by traditional healthcare providers. Services include free sexually transmitted infection (STI) and HIV testing and no to low-cost appointments for STI and HIV treatment, prevention counseling, birth control, and linkage to other community youth programs. In addition, the YYC also serves as a research center for national and state projects involving the health of teenagers and young adults.

Clinic Hours:

Tuesday         1 PM - 5 PM
Wednesday    9 AM - 5 PM

Why We Need Your Help

Funding for staff salaries and testing comes from research, grants, and contracts with the Hillsborough Department of Health. Money needed to support daily operating expenses such as rent, utilities, and printing costs comes from our fundraising activities. Although insurance is accepted at the YYC, many patients do not have any coverage and no one is turned away because they cannot pay. Last year, despite COVID-19, we had over 2,200 patient visits. Our location on 7th Avenue in Ybor City, an area of Tampa frequented by the youth we serve, is crucial to our success, but rents are rising quickly in this area. Now, more than ever, we need your support to continue providing our existing services and allow us to develop innovative, new programming.

Check out our short video produced by Bay News 9 that highlights one of our patients explaining what the clinic has meant to him and click on our Project Manager photos to see why this cause is important to each of them.

Thanks for Your Support!

Because of you, we can continue to provide high-quality health services to youth in the Tampa Bay area. We are truly grateful for your generosity!  Thank you and GO BULLS!
