Support USF Women in Leadership & Philanthropy

The Project/Challenge

During the 2021-22 academic year, the Women in Leadership & Philanthropy (WLP) program was pleased to provide 200 awards to a diverse group of talented and deserving women totaling approximately $321,500. To date, WLP has awarded 47 grants totaling more than $235,000 to outstanding female faculty making a difference for women through research. With your help, we can empower an even greater number of female students and faculty throughout the University of South Florida.

Make an even bigger impact! A generous donor will make a $1,000 donation to the Women in Leadership & Philanthropy Fund if the project is able to reach our goal of 25 gifts by April 8!

Who We Are

WLP was formed in 2005 with the leadership of USF President Emerita and Professor Judy Genshaft, longtime USF supporter Carol Morsani, and Tampa Bay's leading philanthropists, business professionals and entrepreneurs to promote the educational and research endeavors of women at USF. Members of WLP have opportunities to create bonds with students, faculty and each other while helping to develop the next generation of women leaders. Since our founding, WLP has invested more than $3 million in scholarships and faculty research awards. 

The continued success of WLP is the result of the collective generosity of all of our members who make WLP the impactful organization that it has become. WLP presents a wide variety of educational and leadership development programs annually at all three USF campuses and in our surrounding communities. WLP has created formal mentoring partnerships throughout the university with USF’s Center for Leadership & Civic Engagement, Office of Veteran Success, Athletics and the Judy Genshaft Honors College.

Your Impact

Each year, we receive thousands of applications for WLP scholarships, far more than we can currently award. It’s up to us to make WLP scholarships more widely available to current and future USF students. With your help, we can ensure as many students as possible benefit from the support of WLP and continue to meet our mission to make a difference in the lives of women throughout USF and in our communities.

Your support provides WLP with an even greater opportunity to empower the next generation of female leaders through the transformational impact of education, mentoring engagements and leadership development programs. The impact of WLP extends beyond financial support. Scholars receive mentorship from our members and participate in leadership development, training and networking opportunities.
