The Project
The BRIDGE Healthcare Clinic is a student-run free clinic located at the University of South Florida in the heart of the university area community. Our goal is to create a health facility where patients who otherwise lack access to healthcare are treated compassionately and cared for through the collaboration of medicine, social work, physical therapy, pharmacy and public health providers. We believe a healthy community is a prosperous one, and we strive to improve the well-being of the university area community.
The BRIDGE Healthcare Clinic was founded by four USF medical students in 2007 after identifying the tremendous need for basic healthcare in the underserved population that surrounds the university. Today, over 70 physicians and hundreds of USF Health Morsani College of Medicine (MCOM) students, as well as members of the USF College of Public Health, Taneja College of Pharmacy and USF College of Behavioral and Community Sciences volunteer to treat over 1,100 patients each year.
