Who We Are
The Vinik Sports and Entertainment Management Program (VSEM) within USF's Muma College of Business equips students for careers in the sports and entertainment industry. Its curriculum sharpens skills in marketing, finance, operations and management, closely mirroring the industry's real-world demands. Situated in the Tampa Bay area, home to three major league championship teams, it provides students with unique opportunities to foster connections with sports and entertainment organizations, facilitating internships and invaluable networking opportunities. The program aims to prepare students for roles within professional sports teams, venues, event management firms and marketing agencies.
Through the new Black Industry and Leaders Talent (BILT) scholarship, the VSEM program can provide crucial financial support, mentorship and opportunities to talented individuals pursuing careers in this dynamic field. Preference will be given to students engaged in the Black Leadership Network, which supports Black and African American initiatives throughout USF and our community.
Your support is instrumental in directly shaping the lives and futures of USF students and redefining the narrative of our industry, making it more inclusive and innovative.
What We Do
This new scholarship creates a tradition for all first- and second-year students to gain hands-on experience with industry leaders who thrive on creativity and fresh perspectives. The BILT fund provides scholarships to full- and part-time graduate students pursuing a major in VSEM at the Muma College of Business on all campuses.

“This gift grants me tremendous flexibility in my ability to get involved in the many departments that make up college athletics. With my long-term goal of being an athletic director, I must absorb a great amount of knowledge from everyone. That includes the staff in operations, athletic training, events, marketing, compliance, nutrition, equipment, strength/conditioning, coaches, directors, donors, etc. Being able to talk to and build connections with people who contribute to the great success of USF’s future in athletics is monumental to my development. This gift helps me move up my timeline in volunteering in each department. I also plan to create projects and research more effective ways that will benefit the athletic department.
