Who We Are
The University of South Florida College of Public Health Activist Lab serves as the hub of excellence in providing interdisciplinary advocacy, education, research and service opportunities for students to develop critical skills to become effective public health advocates and leaders.
What We Do
Activist Lab Functions and Activities
The Activist Lab focuses on six core pillars of engagement:
- Advocacy
- Education
- Research
- Leadership
- Service
- Applied practice and integrated learning experiences
We utilize evidence-based research as a springboard to offer advocacy training, podcasts, seminars and webinars while allowing students the opportunity to engage with and support their surrounding communities to effect real, positive change.
Through these activities, students are able to fulfill many of the Applied Practice Experience (APE) and Integrative Learning Experience (ILE) requirements needed for graduation, along with generating research and outreach projects. Activities include volunteering at the Activist Lab, participating in lab activities and programs, and developing new programs and activities.
