Who We Are
Fifty years ago, the USF School of Social Work welcomed its first class. Founded in 1976, the school has a strong tradition of providing an engaging social work education program to prepare students to serve as practitioners, administrators and scholars around the globe.
We prepare social workers to be skilled clinicians, advocates and thoughtful leaders ready to tackle today's challenges. Many of our students pursue careers that place them in life’s most challenging moments, confronting societal, emotional and environmental “fires” with courage and compassion. Their work creates a ripple effect that extends far beyond the individuals they serve. Our investment in their success continues to pay off throughout their careers, benefitting thousands of individuals.
What We Do
The Social Work Scholarship Fund helps USF social work students stay enrolled, focused and hopeful through academic and financial support initiatives. Through this fund, the School of Social Work enhances professional development, student wellness initiatives and hands-on learning experiences, such as our free, student-run clinic that prepares students for professional practice. In addition, when students face financial hardship, flexible support allows us to step in and cover essential needs and course-related expenses.
