Who We Are

At USF World, we are committed to supporting every student’s success. From offering a warm welcome to cultivating a strong sense of community through clubs and activities, we prioritize the well-being of all our students. This includes providing crucial assistance when they face unforeseen challenges.

One of our key goals is to ensure that international students can remain enrolled during times of global crisis. Over the years, we've supported students from Brazil and Colombia, two of our largest international student populations, when economic instability made it difficult for their families to cover essential expenses. We’ve also stepped in to assist students affected by war, such as the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, and acted swiftly during the pandemic to provide emergency funding for international students. Our mission is to continue this vital support for students who have been financially affected by events abroad.

We've seen firsthand how a small contribution — just $500 — can be the difference between a student dropping out or continuing toward graduation. With enough generosity, we aim to establish an endowment fund that will ensure ongoing support for students in need, providing a safety net for years to come.

What We Do

International students face unique challenges, especially in times of crisis. Unlike their domestic peers, they do not have access to the same financial resources or aid. When global crises strike, these students face a dire situation — families may no longer be able to offer support, and students’ eligibility for financial aid is limited. With restrictions on part-time work and limited campus job opportunities, their options for financial relief are constrained.

Despite these obstacles, international students contribute significantly to campus life. From the classroom to USF sporting events, our large and vibrant international student community adds immeasurable value to the overall campus experience, creating an atmosphere of cultural exchange and mutual understanding.

To support these students during their times of need, USF World created the International Student Support Fund. This fund provides emergency assistance to international students impacted by crises in their home countries, helping them stay on track with their education and continue to contribute to our campus community.
