Lifting as We Climb - Support the Latino Community

Who We Are

For over 30 years, the Latino Scholarship Program (LSP) has created pathways to higher education for Latino students and provides them with tools for success upon graduation.

Established in response to a growing need to support youth involved in the Hispanic community, LSP supports the University of South Florida (USF) by recruiting, retaining and graduating students through the support of donations and of donors who establish operating or endowed scholarships. Since its inception, LSP has awarded more than $4.2 million to more than 700 graduates. The program currently supports 86 new and 70 returning students.

What We Do

Latino and Hispanic students face unique academic challenges and opportunities, and more are pursuing a college education every year. Scholarships remove a common barrier to higher education access. 

The university-wide USF Latino Scholarship for incoming undergraduates helps USF increase access for these students.

The USF Latino Scholarship is a university-wide, undergraduate (incoming freshman or junior level transfer) scholarship designed to assist USF in achieving and sustaining the educational benefits of diversity and increasing the number of USF students interested in issues affecting the Latino community and/or likely to give back to the Latino community after graduation.

Your Impact

Contributing to the USF Latino Scholarship Fund will lift the financial burden of education from the shoulders of well-deserving Latino and Hispanic students. This will give them the freedom to focus on achieving their collegiate, community and career goals. Your help will assist them in reaching their highest potential as they transform into tomorrow’s leaders.

Recipients of the USF Latino Scholarship will also benefit from the program's other funds that provide professional development workshops and mentoring, which will play a significant role in their success both in college and post-graduation.
