This scholarship will be designated for veterans attending USF who have sustained combat injuries, with preference given to those who served in the Gulf War in Iraq and Afghanistan and sustained their injuries since 2002. Priority will be given to those veterans with severe combat injuries, which have caused severe disabilities (i.e., loss of limb(s), loss of eye(s), brain injury, disfigurement, or other significant factors). If /when this candidate pool is no longer applicable, priority may be given to the children of those veterans who have died as a result of their combat injuries. Priority for awarding the scholarship will be given to undergraduate or graduate USF St. Petersburg students who meet the scholarship criteria; if no USF St. Petersburg students who meet the scholarship criteria are identified, then undergraduate and graduate applicants from throughout the USF system who meet the scholarship criteria will be considered. These are students at all academic levels, full or part-time, pursuing all majors in all colleges.
