The Project
We are fundraising to alleviate the financial responsibility for student performers who are a part of the Winterguard at USF group. The funds raised will help support the operations of Winterguard performances and competitions, such as travel and equipment, during the Winterguard season.
Who We Are
In 2002, Mary Dooley, the coordinator of the USF's Herd of Thunder Colorguard started the Winterguard to continue the development of the program and to keep the membership active during the winter months. As members of the Winterguard at USF, we perform as a visual unit that strives for excellence, education and entertainment for our audience and members of the team. We use various equipment, including flags, rifles and sabres, along with dance to compete at the local and national level annually in Dayton, Ohio.
We promote growth, a sense of family and responsibility within the organization. Membership in the Winterguard at USF is open to any person taking courses at USF, either full-time or part-time, pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees or professional studies.
The Impact
Fundraising efforts for this project will provide opportunities for students to pursue their passion in the performing arts, as the gifts will go toward the operational needs of Winterguard at USF and offset the costs of the Winterguard season for performers.
What Your Gifts Will Do
Funds raised this year will especially help in purchasing performance props that the team will be using to compete at the WGI World Championships. The props are a major component of the overall design and general effect of the programming for the performance. Donors who contribute to this project demonstrate a passion for the performing arts and show support for our team and its members.
