The project
Due to COVID-19, the Annual Social Work Breakfast was not held, an event that provided much support for our Social Work Student Scholarship. Gifts to this HerdFunder will provide scholarships to lighten the financial burden that many students face, especially during the pandemic.
who we are
Our students often have multiple responsibilities in their lives requiring them to work while in school. Scholarships help ease the financial and personal stressors that can become barriers to graduation and the ability to meet the increasing demand for social workers in Florida.
the impact
Now more than ever we must educate and train professional social workers to meet the vast needs of vulnerable populations in our communities. Social work is providing leadership, advocacy and service related to social justice and the development of new social structures to address important issues such as racism, mental health, trauma and poverty.

Supporting students today who will be serving those in need in our community in the future is a worthy investment. Social workers help relieve people's suffering, fight for social justice and improve lives and communities – supporting students who have dedicated their lives to fighting suffering and striving for justice is important.
