USF's commitment to solving global problems, positively shaping the future and saving lives clearly resonates with great urgency at this moment. That's why President Steven C. Currall, Senior Vice President Paul Sanberg and our faculty, staff and university leadership have come together to create a targeted use of our resources and talents in the Pandemic Response Research Network™ (PRRN). 

USF is proud to be part of a global community of scientists, scholars and inventors who are working tirelessly to address the current and future global pandemics and our PRRN serves as an exemplar of how such research and development can be best organized by a major metropolitan public research university. 

Your Impact

The PRRN is a collaboration of its leading scientists whose research addresses the issues surrounding epidemics and will provide financial seed support for a series of projects aimed at developing potential vaccines, treatments, technologies and social mitigation strategies in the wake of COVID-19. 

Your gift of any size will: 

• Support the USF COVID-19 Rapid Response Grant Program, which provides up to $25,000 toward research led by USF faculty and students. More than 400 researchers are conducting studies in all fields related to COVID-19 right now. 
• Help USF obtain materials and provide manufacturing expertise needed for the Tampa Bay area medical and clinical services, such as the 3D printing of swabs and masks in on-campus labs. 
• Provide resources to faculty concerned about the societal impacts of "Safer at Home" policies and the educational effects of homeschooling on students of all ages. In partnership with the State of Florida, USF researchers are conducting surveys and gathering data on the impact of COVID-19 on our lives. 
• Impact our environmental specialists who have a unique opportunity to study the environmental effects of the global economic shutdown and analyze how this unprecedented event might inform future environmental policy decisions.
