Rebecca L Bast - CLU®, ChFC® is the Founder and Private Wealth Management Advisor with the Bast Financial Group in Tampa, Florida. In 1994 while attending the University of South Florida in pursuit of her Business Degree she began her career with Northwestern Mutual as a college intern. Throughout her career with Northwestern Mutual, Rebecca has been the recipient of numerous accolades, but helping her clients along with the field is what truly drives Rebecca. Rebecca’s team is dedicated to providing the ultimate client experience. They firmly believe in treating others the way they would want to be treated. With 29 years of experience, Rebecca is constantly mentoring her fellow advisors so that they can succeed in the business. Between her knowledge and integrity, clients have come to realize that Rebecca is truly looking out for their best interest. Rebecca's extensive knowledge has enabled clients to have a lifetime of financial security they thought they would never have.

In addition to her professional achievements, Rebecca is an active community volunteer, serving in many volunteer leadership capacities including on the Foundation Boards of the University of South Florida and St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. Rebecca and her husband John are proud parents to John Thomas (17) and Cally (15).

In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys traveling (especially to Montana), the arts, fly fishing, and cheering on her children from the sidelines of their sporting events. Her love for lacrosse and ardent backing for Coach McCord and USF’s Women’s Lacrosse was nurtured over the many years that her children have played the sport, and she is excited to support the program and help position it for success.

I’ve always loved watching lacrosse, and appreciate the speed and finesse the game’s best athletes possess. I was obviously very excited when my husband George told me that the University of South Florida would be starting a Women’s lacrosse team. We decided to go “all in” with our support when we learned that the Bulls had selected Coach Mindy McCord to be the team’s inaugural head coach. We have a deep respect for Coach McCord’s leadership style, team building talents and staff development knack…she’s a well known coach with a proven track record. You only need to spend a few minutes in Coach McCord’s presence to catch lacrosse fever!

I remember the first time I realized my wife Jane loved watching women’s collegiate lacrosse games on television. I knew when I told her about USF’s intent to start a women’s lacrosse team, that I was going to be directed to support the program. Coach McCord’s hiring clearly indicated USF’s commitment level to get this new team launched in a truly focused way. Jane and I became determined to ensure that Coach and her staff had every needed resource, especially in the early stages of development, to achieve their vision of success and make USF proud. I am confident that our newest student-athletes will achieve quick success both on the field and in the classroom.
